Ricoh MP C3300 Scan to Folder help!

    Hi all

I have a problem with a clients scan to folder setup I hope someone can confirm my thoughts with:

They are unable to scan to folder. .....

They worked fine until a recent server fault and faulty network switch.

I have attended site to check the scan settings.

When trying to browse their network using the 'manual' scan feature on the copier control panel, I cannot seem to connect to anything, browse their network neither by server IP address nor Server name.

I have connected my laptop straight to the NIC on the copier with a cross over cable (excluding their network) and setup scan to folder easily with no problems. . . .

My question is this, is there any setting on the copier which can block the copier from gaining access to their network?

I have connected my laptop to their network and CAN browse and succesfully transfer a file to and from the network share.

Everything points to their network and originally suspected they provided incorrect user name and password credentials, however I CAN access the server and network share with the provided credentials through my laptop?!!!!

I'm sure its a simple fault on their network but as I can access their network share on their server with my laptop and provided credentials, they automatically assume its a copier fault, yet I can setup scan to folder with the cross over cable to my laptop. . .

Their server is Windows small business server 2008.

I look forward to your experience with these kind of situations!

    John

Did they upgrade the server to2008. If so, then you will need a firmware upgrade to deal with SMB2

Reinput the username and password into WIM. (just to be sure.) Other than that I can only think of it being a permissions issue. SMB and your laptop are using different methods. Perhaps set up a new folder share (change the name slightly) and point the new path to it.

I'd still check firmware as Jomama46 said above. Network should be version 8.30 D0255563G.

Make sure that they have not disabled netbios on their network. I had a client have a scan to folder problem a couple of weeks ago. After checking all the settings, I called their IT dept to talk things over and it was discovered that the network administrator had disabled netbios on their network to reduce traffic on the network. Once it was turned back on, scan to folder started working again.
