SC860 hard drive error

    [Error Code] SC860 hard drive error

    MPC3500 stay on waiting for ever. After disconnected one of the hard drive SC860 pops. Do i have to replace both hard drives or just the bad one? If so, do i have to format it after installed? Please help. thanks.

      I always replace as a pair, they need to be a matched set. Anyhow, they probably are the same age, so the second one will fail shortly

          Usually the HDD aren't broken so reformatting should be enough - in case it took ages to detect the error it might be better to swap the drives though.

            hi all
            i just got the same problem . After formatting both hdd found that one is faulty . i inserts the good one , i still got the error sc 860. Now the hdd is 40GB IDE. Can i insert another one 320GB IDE as there is no 40 gb avalable or i need both 320GB IDE ? or it there any solution ??
