    5635 oddities

Hi guys, i went to a 5635 today which had sc 544 and 548, i swopped the fuser and did some test copies. When the test copies came out they got darker as more copies came out. i opened the machine and looked at the drum which was covered in toner, i cleaned the mag roll and the drum then went clean .

I still had the problem of dark copies so (charge voltage at 2000, normally 1480)i ran the machine without toner , reset the charge bias to 1480(which gave me dark copies instantly) then did a td setup, dev initialize and pwm setting(3001-01)

After the dev initialize the copies were fine at 1480 volts on the charge roll.

My question(finally) is what has changed to make the copies get back to normal as the dev intialize does not get much description in the manual.
Networking skills are advantageous but use of a 3m vacuum cleaner is essential

Dev. initialize only stirs the dev., TD init. will reset the TD sensor and ref. voltage.

Did you check the drum ground? Those machines drum ground bearing will go bad and cause problems.
Don't take that toner with me!
