aficio 551 sc495

hi, please help. ricoh aficio 551. i already cleaned the white and black hose, cleaned the recycling cylinder at the back where the black and white hose is connected, changed the pump motor including the green board. it can copy less than 1,000 pages only then sc495 appears again. whats the solution/s?

Did you clean the toner recycling sensor?

yes i did and even replaced it but sc495 still appears after some copies. i even replaced the whole recycling cylinder. still sc495.

There are 2 sensors related to that error. One is at the toner recycling unit and that one has a tendency to get dirty a lot. The other one is at the toner waste unit. If you are looking at the machine from the rear it would be at the upper left corner. It sounds like one the sensors is not seeing the change in status. Either the sensor is flacky or the mechanism is faulty.

I once had a very similar problem to this, and its sounding more like yours as each post i read, i replace all the above and still after 1000 or so copies i would get SC495, every 2 days i was back to this machine, So me and an impatient service manager returned with new board sensors and parts from a fully working machine..... After 4 hours of testing and continious sc495!!!! we discovered that the harness connecting to the sensor had infact peeled and been pinched during cleaning at the first SC... so after a quick repair on the harness, Problem Solved

The gear that the small belt is on is D shaped and now its round....so its slipping ...its a white gear....the one by the main motor not the one on recycling unit
