    Afficio 1224C error

I wish the boss would stop telling this guy yes we'll work on it. They took the imaging unit out them selves and then took compressed air to it. Then they put it back and SC571 has come up. I have no manuals for this thing and have no idea what this code is. PLEASE help me out here.

    Thanks

    sc571

sc571 on this machine means fuser oil overflow.
check the oil out sensor connector.
use sp5 810 to reset this and most other codes.
i have some pretty good info on this machine, where ca i send it.
    good luck.

        Aficio 1224C SC571

        Hi,

I have an Aficio 1224C receiving the SC571 fuzer error. You mentioned to reset this error and others to use SP5-810 code. How exactly do I get to the menu to enter this code?

        Thanks for your assist.

Call a technician, working on this machine without knowledge is a VERY bad idea. It will (believe me when I tell you) cost you more in parts and labor in the end.

I appreciate your concern, while I may not be a copier technician I am an IT professional. If i did not know what I was doing, I would not have gotten this far.

I can find the info another way. Thanks,

Using my superior "copier repair technician" skills, I found out how to get into the service menu to do the reset. It fixed the problem. Beats calling out a technician...

My company offers free service to the machines that we rent. Now I see it is a good move. At least our customers don't atempt to repair the copiers themselves. We sometimes ask copier operators to clear fuser codes by entering the service mode, but just to keep the machine running, if the code is thermistor related. I am still sent to machine, even if the code has been cleared, to look for faults and fix other problems, if there are any. Properly maintained, the machines do more copies. We charge cutomers, if they broke something while trying to repair fault without calling the service. Simple
