Have you tried changing the TCP/IP port number to '10001' or is printing via USB?

IFBACK, I need more info to help you...

-How is the machine connected the PC? USB, Bluetooth, Wireless, Ethernet, parallel?
-is it installed locally or on the network?

      If on the network
-did you put a static IP on the machine?? or its getting it from a DHCP server???

      - you mentioned that you downloaded the drivers from the website. the ones for Vista are usually all together in a mini driver.

-can you ping the machine??? if yes, can you log in using the web image monitor ((you know go to a web browser and type the IP or the hostname of the copier))

you might have the port configured for LPR and not RAW. or maybe using a different port number.

if you have RAW make sure you are using port 9100

Let me know if this helps. or answer some of the questions

Which model do you have though? the MP1600 or the MP1600L?

The MP1600 uses a GW controller and has RPCS/PCL Vista drivers available now.
But the MP1600L uses a cheaper low budget GDI controller and uses a DDST driver which has not any Vista drivers yet (they are due out Q1 2008).

Apart from that printing via USB should be 'plug and play(pray)'.
You would just need to point to the driver .inf when it asks.
(Windows would automatically setup a virtual 'USB001' port).

I do not know if you have this working now.

Can you print to this MP1600 from Windows XP on another computer?

Based of the information I have to go on that makes two of us then LOL.

DaZ goes into general troubleshooting mode.

You have checked the printer is 'online' and there is no USB device conflicts shown in the device manager in windows?

Do the print jobs show up in the print spool when they are sent to the printer?
