3228c red light on fax button

It says "check for networking problems" it seems to be intermittent. It was previously set up to send fax via email but I thought I turned all that off. It may be possible it is sending only when an error occurs.

Did I miss something? How do I disable ALL fax/email co-mingling?

I've had a couple of "newer" units do this for no apparent reason. I checked all DNS entries, IP addresses, etc, etc.,and never found anything mismatched. I solved the intermittent message by switching "off" Display network errors" on the fax user parameters. It's switch 21/ bit 6 at least on the MP C2500 series, as well as MP2000. it's probably the same on 3228C.
I'd still like to know the cause but this should solve the problem for you.

Regarding the other posts about checking the POP. I setup the machine myself and I'm pretty sure that POP isn't on. But I'll check it again just for curiosities sake.
