Aficio 3228C that comes network printer and scanner is connected in a LAN environment. The copier can print but when we try to scan, the message " no response from scanner " appears. Already install the correct twain driver and Paperport 9.0. I know scan to folder is an option but wanted to find out why the paperport does not work. Thanks.

Re: Aficio 3228C can print but cannot scan
First at all, i would disconnect the Mashine from the Network, attach a Notebook to it and see, if this minimal configuration works.

Alreadt tried that and the scanning worked. So what could be the problem here ? Maybe the pcs in the LAN are protected by firewall ?Comment

Re: Aficio 3228C can print but cannot scan
Sure sounds like a firewall issue; port 1022 needs to be open.
I don't remember if it's TCP or UDP, but open both to be sure. You can name them anything you want.“I think you should treat good friends like a fine wine. That’s why I keep mine locked up in the basement.” - Tim HawkinsComment

It sounds like a firewall issue, though you may also want to check whether or not the NIC firmware is up to date to allow the machine to work with NTLMv2. I know some environments have turned off NTLMv1 support as an added security measure. Also, make sure you're not trying to connect 64 bit clients with TWAIN as poor old TWAIN is an x86 only application.Comment
