just had this problem this week. this printer has been giving this problem since it was shipped and tried and checked every unit to try to solve it but the only thing that solved the problem for some 2K cycles was replacing the color drum. this week i decided to to dig deep and behold the first thing i notice is that when sliding the PCu shutters back tom open position, the MAgenta was looking empty or low so i then shifted attention to the the toner supply shutters at the top of the machine and again found that whilst Cyan and yellow toner fell out of the whole length of the shutter the magenta only fell from the back slit only. cleaning the toner feed tube throughly after removing the whole assy solved the problem but still had to replace the PCu as this would not come back to spec and color registration was never right, so prints would be lacking magenta or no magenta at all. hope this helpsVoluntary assistance can be your greatest gift once you do not degrade the recipient.

inserting the rong pcu
i have found through several issues that you may get this error. No matter what it is caused by rather the color pcu or the transfer belt. If you have not tried to replace these it is a place to start. Once it was due to the customer ordering the wrong color pcu and installing it. The other time was that the transfer belt was not properly seated. Sometime just pulling the new belt out and reinstalling can fix this issue. If the belt is on an angle or has too much tention it will not move properly thrus causing the color regist. Error. I hope this helps.
