    [Misc] Savin 9240 Web Elimination

I heard a while back that you could use an oil roller from one of the old
savin/ricoh's in place of this stupid hard to replace web on the 9240. Can you please refresh my memory and tell me how to do this???

Thank you for looking at this. I knew I should have book marked this info. when I got it. It was actually a Ricoh rep. that told me about it. I will keep looking as well.

Here you go. I guess the only caveat is to make sure any other techs who may work on a modded machine know to check it on a pm call since you won't get a low web indication.

              Re: Savin 9240 Web Elimination

The only problem I have seen out in the field is that if a flat spot develops on the oil roller, then the oil roller no longer rolls with the hot roller and hot roller develops rotational line and gets ruined quickly. Its quite a bit of work replacing the hot roller and they seem to last 600k+ with the web. So I think spending extra 15mins replacing the web is well worth the effort. After a couple of web replacement, its it NOT really difficult or THAT time consuming to replace the web anyway imho.

Need to trim the springs more to prevent the roller from jamming.

Side note, I once ran an MP5000 without the web or oil roller for an entire PM cycle. Fuser looked fine after 300k.
