    [Jamming] 2045 jams at 16

i have one customer who seems to be getting alot of jams in the stripper pawls of the fuser unit. fuser unit has been refurbished like new hotroller, pressure roller, cleaning roller, bearings, new style pawls and springs.

ve noticed that most jams have a heavy toner coverage. they are using 80gsm very good quality paper.
im starting to think about the new style stripper pawl springs that have less tension causing the paper to easily get trapped in the stripper pawls. the old style springs have a stronger tension that hold down the pawls hard on the hotroller. i have changed complete fuser units and still get jams in fuser. this is mostly when copying photographs with a4 toner coverage.

i have tried feeding it through A4r (sideways) and intermittantly jams in the stripper fingers.

if this is something that the machine cannot cope then does that mean its a manufaturer fault?? or is it something that an office mfp is not designed to do??

can someone explain to me what i need to explain to the customer.

i havent tried changing the paper to a slightly higher grade yet.

is there something that iv missed out??

    machine has only done 200k

    Yup common issue.

The older 2045 model range just does not like high toner coverage near the leading edge.
You have done pretty much all you can by trying the new type of pawls and springs and turning the paper feed to A4 SEF.
(I actually prefer the older flat ended pawls even though they gather toner, at least they don't cut into the hot roller).

100g being a slightly stiffer paper stock may work better but it's going to cost the customer more per copy.
You could try adjusting the leading edge back a little, but the customer will likely notice that print is off center.

I've had the odd customer get shirty with me over this problem too, but it's just tough shit really.
If there was fix that worked 100% we would apply it. (send in the sales scum bags to sell them a better model lol).
