    Paper jam (MP C2550)

Scenario # 1. I have MP C2550 which has complete options. Paper jams in the paper exit unit. By removing the finisher option the machine works fine without any jam error.

Scenario #2. Another MP C2550 also faces the same paper jam problem. Even I remove the finisher unit, the machine is still not working.

I resolve both problems by replacing the whole exit unit. The client needs the machine badly that I have no time to troubleshoot which part of the exit unit causes paper jam.

I am not able to find which parts of the exit unit are defective because we don't have working MP C2550 in our office to be tested on.

(Note:Paper exit units were taken from non-working machine.)

    Question:

What part of the exit unit causes the paper jam?Do you have any ideas?

    Thank you.

hello sharpmind you have to check the wornout bushings and the shaft of the rollers(e.g. exit roller etc.). If the machine is located on a dusty room and over used you have to expect this to happen.has solved this problem once.

What is the jam code? I've had on several occasions that the fusing exit sensor fails due to the heat from the fuser below it. Attached is a tech bulletin in regards to replacing the exit sensor bracket, but I would also replace the sensors to be sure. Do an output check on the sensors to determine if this is the case (though sometimes the failure occurs after the temperature has built up over time).
The tech bulletin just references the bracket, but you can order the sensor assy. > D0394955, also order GW010007 (exit sensor after fuser exit sensor).

Teebee, sorry I'm not able to check the jam code. The problem is that paper jam occurs in the paper exit unit when the finisher unit is installed.

I have this exact same issue. The code is a jam 24, relay sensor does not detect paper. What happens is the paper stop right at the exit rollers but I can't figure out why although I am starting to think its because the upper exit guide is warped.

Have you found a solution to your problem?
