    Fusing unit rebuilds

Does everyone else out there rebuild AF 1022 to 3025 range fusing units and if so do your fusing roller bearings knock even after you apply Barrieta grease. Or are fusing units replaced as a complete assy.

I rebuild 'em and don't have any issues with them knocking, just don't be frugal with the Barrierta grease.

I also rebuild them. You can also use the bearings of the AF2035. They run smoother.

I agree with Eric. The added bonus of using the 2035 bearings is that the extra shoulder on the bearing will help to keep the heat tube in place in the event of the plastic frame breaking.

good idea with the 2035 bearings. iv had plenty where the fuser frame snaps. 2035 bearings will be perfect to stop this from happening. i will try this next time. thanks

Also you can use rvt gasket silicon on the ends of the hot roller then put on the bearings, this stops the noise. Just put a small ammount all the way around the roller, then reassemble the unit, It's worked every time.
