Try reformatting the HDD, if that doesn't work then replace it.

      Please Wait after 1 job

      [Symptom]
Please wait condition occurs after the first print/copy job.
After reboot same thing: only 1 job can be made, then Please wait appears on display.

      [Cause]
Although it seems to be a memory/HDD/controller/firmware failure, the problem is caused by the Drum Potential Sensor: it is very dirty (contaminated with toner dust) or defective.

      [Action]
First clean the Drum Potential Sensor and check the connector in front of the drum-unit.
If not OK, replace the Drum Potential Sensor.

Please refer to the service manual. Do not forget to read the service manual. It is the technician's bible.

The potential sensor sits right above the drum in the upper section of the pcu unit. It's a silver metal rectangular box about 1.5in long, .25in sides. Don't vacuum it, just brush/blow it clean (highly sensitive to static). If it's that dirty then you probably have other issues, like needing a pm.
