    SC991 followed immediately by SC54X

Have seen this on a couple of models now, MP5000 and MP6500. Machine shows fuser heat error (SC543, I believe) immediately after SC991 is logged in SMC report. I had one about a year ago (MP5000) which was very persistent, replaced thermos and brackets as mentioned in bulletins, upgraded firmware and still had the issues come back. Ended up replacing the entire fuser, which still didn't solve the problem. I then PM'd the machine when due and haven't had the issue on that box since. I now have the same issue @ an MP6500 and am at a loss as to what to do next. I have the machine with a rebuilt fuser in it now, with all the modded brackets and thermos and latest firmware. Machine is running at the moment but I just wanted to ask if anyone else is/has faced this problem before?

    Cheers J

i have run into this issue many times. The solution... everything you did. Did the ,mods, firmware, rebuilt the fuser.. replaced it, etc. I also adjust the fuser temps down about 10 degrees and in the newer models, you can lower the start up temps, as well. all of these things or a combo seem to fix the issue. mostly trial and error, unfortunately.

Cheers mate. Will check into the fuser temps. It's a pity it seems Ricoh haven't spent much time on this issue.
