Re: MPC4501 Warming up on display

This is from the Global Knowledge Base for the MPC4000/5000. The problem profile would be the same.

    [Symptom]

    SC672 after extended Please Wait.
    [Cause]
    Defective BICU PCB
    [Resolution]
    Replaced .D0295113 PCB:BICU:G W:ASS'Y and reloaded firmware.
    -------------------------------------------------------------

If it has a fax option, this could also be an issue...

RTB No.: RD089019 : "Please Wait" displays when FAX installed
    Published 12/16/2010 09:57 PM | Updated 12/16/2010 09:57 PM
    Answer ID 130131 | FAQ ID 129784 | Rank A2
    [Symptom]
The LCD displays "Please Wait", or the machine does not detect the FAX option when FAX option is installed.
    Cause
The screw [A] shown below touches the FAX I/F board, causing a short circuit.

    Solution
    Production line
The screw [A] was shortened and the shape of the two screws [B] fixing the plate in place was changed.

    In the field
Do the procedure on the next page.

    1. Remove the two screws [B] fixing the plate in place.

    2. Shift the FAX board to the right (toward the edge of the controller box) until the screws [B] touch the leftmost edge of the screw holes.

    2. Tighten the screws [B] again.
    3. Make sure that the FAX I/F board does not touch any of the screws.

*If it's all the same to you guys, I'll stay out of this international incident. The U.S. is overextended as it is....But if it comes down to to taking sides, I'll have to side with Canada since they are America's hat.
