Re: colour and autocolour on MFC
Colour copying uses all four drum units and toner to make black and all of your colours. So if you copy a page of black text in this mode, the copier uses CMYK toner to make the image (process black).
Auto colour scans the image and determines whether the image is black and white or colour and uses the proper settings to make each copy. Often using colour copy mode your text will appear washed out since the process black is never as strong as just black toner. This is also a good way to test your optics and calibration: the closer to a true black the better the machine is running.
Make sure the optics are clean, the machine is calibrated and the image processing set to the proper setting (text, text/image, image, etc.). This will ensure the best possible copy. -
Re: colour and autocolour on MFC
Correct me if I'm wrong ... but doesn't Auto Color make a decision to print monochrome or color, based on the original content? Full Color copy does not make that decision, just uses process black (CMYK). By definition, if Auto Color selects color, the resulting copy should look exactly the same as a Full Color copy. =^..^=If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Re: colour and autocolour on MFC
I always advise the customer to use Auto Color instead of Full Color to save charges on color clicks. If they have a stack of originals and some have color on them and some are strictly b/w, if they select full color then all of the originals are counted as color prints. If they select Auto Color, the machine will determine which originals scanned have no color on them and process them as such and only increment the B\W meter. Generally I apply a user code requirement for Full Color and don't assign a code for it, that way they are forced to select Auto Color.Comment
