    cs555

anyone got tips on a cs555???
    i`ve got a customer running b&w about 2 000 000 and color 320 000!!!
i`ve got a constant problem with toner (black) falling onto the copies...
so almost every day i`ve got to go clean the black pcu!

    anyone got a solution???
too much black toner dust... the machine runs almost all day, doing mostly black and white prints.

Is this a month? What are your PM counts?

The PM intervals, for the pcu parts, is 150k. This is probably playing a large part in your issue. If your client is running 2 million a month, the best I can estimate is that they are running somewhere between 75k a day. That's given a full 24 hr day. If they work a normal 8 hr day, then they are pretty much limited to 26k a day, if they ran nonstop. But if they are running large paper (11x17 / A3) then double those numbers, because of the double count feature.

I would check the PM count for the Bk PCU and rebuild it if necessary. It's not a hugh job. I would also have take this customer a brochure on the Gestetner 7110, which is the Ricoh MP1100.

I don't think 2 mil/mo or 320,000 color/mo is possible on this box. It's real solid for HV color out, keep the pm's current by the book plus extras. If your total volume is this it maybe time to add another one or like unisys said add an mp1100 for B/W.

No that is the total counter, they have had the machine for about 2 years. the pm`s are met at the right time but the customer is a print shop. when it gets busy they run the hell out of the machine! that is when the black pcu takes a beating! (most of the jobs are b&w)
that is when the toner starts building up under the dev roller and starts dropping on the copies. i clean out the pcu, then it`s fine for about a day or two then i have to repeat it until they reduce the load on the machine.

when i rebuild the pcu with new drum dev ect. and they are busy it lasts about a week or two. Then same thing happens.

they were going to get a mp1350 but they have problems with money, so this poor machine - or poor me has to do the best to keep things running.

I have gone as far as removing 2 of the 3 filters at the back of the machine (just below the network interface) to allow for more air flow, this helps a lot, but it starts getting a bit dirty at the back of the machine. (toner dust)

I logged into tessa-support.com yesterday and see there is new firmware, i`ll try and do an update to see if it will help...

any other advise will be very helpful!!!

        thanks guys.

When you say you have done a full pm on the K pcu what have you changed and done exactly?

After i while these units either need full rebulid or replacing in my experience.

In my experience, when you replace the dev you need to clean behind the mag rollers as cake toner builds up behind it.
Also you could switch on the peltier unit to keep the PCUs cooller during a long run - this is not switched on by default. There is an RTB on Tessa number RB132033
