    aficio 5560c / mini-offset printer

    hi to all,

    i haven't used any color copier yet and i'm planning to buy ricoh aficio 5560c.
    i would like to ask if this machine can perform like a mini-offset printer using maximum a3size paper?
    can't find info about the monthly volume this machine can print.
    any feedback about the performance of this machine?
    any common problems with this model?

      I don't know anything about this model, but the Product Support Guide indicates:

      ACV = 30K Prints
      Max CV = 150K Prints

      About all I can give you on this one.
      A Ricoh Service Tech for 7 year. A Konica Minolta Service Tech for 7 years. Now, KM service manager for 4 years.
      My Ricoh knowledge is slowly dwindling away at this point. Many things have been lost to time...

          So long as you can ensure all updates and bulletins have been applied and the PM cycle is adhered to these work OK, though the newer products IMHO do work better. These things aren't really meant for a print shop environment and are more of a large workgroup machine.

              is there any other model that you can recommend that can be considered a workhorse or bulletproof for color copier?

                  Yep, a Pro C901 or C751 on contract. You can't expect a 5-10 year old machine to run that well on full coverage, you'll just destroy it.
                  It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                      Good answer TM. X2 on this one. The newer Pro C series has much better color and is built more for the environment you are suggesting.
