    Ricoh SP C222DN Password Reset??

Just going to throw this one out there. Is it possible to reset the Admin password, that is used to log in through the web interface, on this machine? I know it can be done in copiers using the "supervisor" log-in, I'm just curious if there is a similar log-in on these printers?

The default password had been changed, and of course, nobody knows what it was changed to...

    Thanks!

That works fine when using the Smart Organizing Monitor software. I'm looking at access through the Web Image Monitor. Clicking the "Log In" button in the upper right corner prompts for a user name and password, of which, the default should be 'admin' for user name, and a blank password. Of course, this has been changed, and thus I'm locked out.

I'd rather not have to run the SOM software, I prefer the web interface, so would like to get the password reset if it's at all possible.

Thanks, just tried that, and still a no go. Password must have been changed. Any thoughts on a reset?

Have you tried going into SOM, then System tab, select Factory default, and or Machine Comment, Access Code, or under the SP Mode 2 tab, Initialize Engine EEPROM

The MF version seems to have a reset. Just not sure about the Printer only version.

Yup, tried Factory Defaults, only reset the settings of paper type, Energy Saver Timer, etc. I've also done the EEPROM Initialization, wiped out everything except the password, unfortunately. Won't be doing that again, what a pain to get everything reset after that (registration, etc.)!

I had called Ricoh support about this a little over a year ago, they told me the only way to reset it was to replace the NVRAM. I really didn't want to believe this, so I've lived with it so far. I was really hoping someone had another method, as I'm not desperate enough to pay the cost associated with a new chip. Wonder if the price has come down any... Maybe I'll look into it again, but I doubt it.
