[Misc] Ricoh MP C4500 Issues scanning to network drive

    Hi there,
I have a Ricoh MP C4500 that we have setup to print to a network drive. We do have Active directory, but we created a user just for the scanner so that the employees can just go and scan what they need and it will be in a generic folder for them to grab (we only have 13 people in the office) So most of them have no problems at all doing this, but I have 2-3 that say it takes anywhere from 15 minutes to 4 hours for their scans to show up in the network folder. Does anyone have any ideas what this could be or what we can try to fix this. I have just physically shut down the printer for like 2-3 minutes and then started it again and SOMETIMES that helps, but I figure there has to be something else that would cause this. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

Perhaps they are setting the resolution too high, scanning color will also make a huge file. other than that, look at the nw switch or router.

They dont change any settings when they send compared to when the one that it works for does it.

What do you mean by nw switch or router??

network switch or router may cause slowdowns

Check the display after the scanning is finished. Does the memory percentage go back to 100% and the data light go off fairly quickly? Once that happens then that scan has left the device and is now in the hands of the network. If it takes a long time to get to the folder, then your IT person will have to determine the problem. One way to troubleshoot is to set up a shared folder directly on the PC of one of the users that is having this problem and set a path to it in the address book. If the scanning is normal in that situation then that is one more confirmation that the issue is with the network somewhere.
