[Error Code] Error installing DesktopBinder Lite on Windows 7 64 bit

I am trying to setup the machine running Windows 7 (64 bit) to scan documents by connecting to Aficio MP 2000Le. I tried to install the Desktop Binder Lite software downloaded from Ricoh site for this. But while installing the software, I get the eror :
    ---------------------------
Could not find the required key for the initialization file. 'Common' 'MapleVersion64EXP_Y'.
    ---------------------------

Could anybody please help me out? Thanks

Why would you want to use an antiquated piece of software like that anyway. Setup either Scan to Email or Scan to Folder. Neither are that difficult to do. If they want it straight to their computer, Scan to Folder would be the way to go, and in my opinion is easier to setup than the Scan to Email anyway.

Just give them a preset key on the "Quick Dial" keypad and all they need to do is put the documents on the glass or in the feeder, hit the quick key, and off they go to the specified folder on their computer.

Thanks for the response. I am not an IT Administrator and want to scan documents on my single laptop using the USB cable. Sorry for the confusion here. How to install the Scan to Folder feature on the laptop? (Win 7 64 bit)

Scan to folder would need to be done over the network, it can't be done via USB cable. If you can swing that you should be in good shape for getting it going...

Have you tried setting up a shared folder on the laptop and connecting the copier to the network? So long as you configure the folder on the machine to use the same user name and password as your account on the laptop it should work.

there are many reason for do that, one of they is that u need to access using a program like abby reader in order to scan whit ocr funcions

That has nothing to do with re-,opening a dead and buried 7-year-old thread.

There are a lot better OCR options that do not involve obsolete software options. Free OCR Software - Optical Character Recognition and Scanning Software for Windows - import from PDF and Twain Scanners
