    Fix Forced toner supply?

Two months ago we received an Aficio MP 3500, I ordered the wrong toner, and tried to put it in the device.
Then found out the correct toner was Type 4500A 840040.

When I finally got the right toner, I put the toner in the device, and then I told it to Execute 2207 - Force Toner Supply.
I know now, this was a mistake.

Now the device puts lots of toner everywhere, it's very uniform, as you can see in the scan. No toner is getting on the back of the page, or staying on the transfer drum. Total prints on the device is about 850.

Does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you in advanced.

You could vac out the pcu toner place a piece of paper over the dev toner inlet and try loads of sky shots (lift up the lif and copy away. If its just overtoned with its own toner.

But if the wrong toner has been fed in (which has happened on mp3500s and 4500s for us) the dev unit needs vacing out completely, as does the pcu (any waste toner as well otherwise it will be returned to the dev unit, the toner hopper vacced out inside and out. Change the dev and start again.

      I agree with paulg.

It's best to start from scratch as the dev is clearly mixed with the wrong type of toner.

I think it is only over toning with it's own toner, because it would not print using the other cartridge.
I tried your suggestion, but it seems to have made it worse. I think I'll just make a service call, and see what happens.

Depending on the cartridge if it was in there long enough and the machine forced a small amount in to the copier it may have got in. i know this is possible as i have seen it with my own eyes and seen the mess.

Normally the best way is to get rid of all the contaminated dev and toner in the system and start again.

Yeah, I've tried 'sorting' this before, but it's just a lot easier to change it all. You just have to make sure ALL the bad toner's gone.
