I was asked to make our ricoh 1022 have the scanning function. I have now installed what I believed to be the correct 64MB memory, ethernet card and printer/scanner module in the ricoh but the scanning option does not appear on the menu. I have attached a view of the card. It does say printer unit type 1027, PN 30301703. Is this the correct card for the scanning functionality? If not what card should I get? The copier is now connected to the LAN through the ethernet card. I appreciate your advice. Thanks.

Re: Ricoh 1022 scanner option question
You have the printer option shown. You need the print/scan option. They look the same, but the print/scan will say printer scanner type 1027.
You don't need the HDD for scanning. Why do they call it common sense?
If it were common, wouldn't everyone have it?Comment

Re: Ricoh 1022 scanner option question
The other two are correct, this unit came with either a Print only, or a Print/Scan card. You have the Print only card. If you already have the scanner button for the operation panel, you should be able to get by with just the purchase of the Print/Scan Dimm, which is part# B505-5117. If you need other parts, I've attached the parts catalog for the Print/Scan option for this machine. The product code for the option is B453.Attached FilesA Ricoh Service Tech for 7 year. A Konica Minolta Service Tech for 7 years. Now, KM service manager for 4 years.
My Ricoh knowledge is slowly dwindling away at this point. Many things have been lost to time...Comment

I appreciate all your assistance. I do have the scan button. Any idea where I can source this card? It doesn't need to be new just operational.Comment

Re: Ricoh 1022 scanner option question
I think ebay's probably going to be your best bet. It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Hit it.Comment
