Ricoh Alficio SP C811DN error code SC290?

Hello! I was printing and a paper jammed coming out of the printer. I removed the jammed pages, closed the doors and then received an error code SC290. Any info as to what the code means and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated!

2XX Laser exposure
200 - Polygon motor
220 - Synchronization control
230 - FGATE signal related
240 - LD control
280 - Unique for a specific model
290 - Shutter

It looks like there is an error with the Laser Shutter Unit. You may have dislodged something when you have removed the paper jam. I would have a look in the area where you removed the paper and look for anything that might be bent or broken.

I assume you have tried the simple things like totally powering off and on?

the shutter tends to slide somewhat heavy, so the shutter motor has not enough power to move it correctly in position, take out the laser unit and remove the shutter, but leave the actuators in place and you should be done

Some error codes are similar across the Ricoh range, but not all. What error code(s) are you looking for? And for what model? If you want this one, it's:

		The shutter close sensor does not detect "ON" for 2000 msec after the shutter motor turns on.
