2228c control board issue / question

Can the control board in a 2228c be replaced with the control board of a c3224?
i have a machine that is unresponsive to commands{copy, print} it just sits and says copying ??
no paper comes out or does it code out, it took about 15 min for a meter sheet to be produced.
I have changed out hdd, cleaned memory sticks, re set print controller, reset sd card...
im leaning towards main control board,. i have a c3224 sitting around for parts.
    thanks

A 3224 is a completly different series of copier, perhaps you mean a 3228? and sorry, the answer is still no, they arn't interchangeable.

As for your solving your problem I would be trying different memory dimms, another nvram as it could have been corrupted and then another controller board. It sounds like a memory problem as its waiting for a process to finish before it goes onto the next step. Does it get better with the HDD unplugged? Is it possable to get a SC code?

            my crossover reference is saying
            a c3224 savin is a ricoh 2232c?
and in the same parts reference for the 2228c 2232c and a 2238c
but i understand the control boards are not all the same
this is why i was asking...
is the memory u speak of on the main board, or on the print control board?

Strewth now your taxing my memory, its been awhile since I worked on one of these as we've pensioned most of them off by now.
Ok, theres a nvram on the BICU as well as on the controller bd ( one of these might have been corrupted) There are two sdrams (memory sticks) on the controller board. These handle the HDDs and if one is faulty it takes forever to process any data, so I'd try these first. There is also the SD card plugged into the controller bd and I've known these to go faulty. Looks like your down to jockying boards to isolate the problem.

Sorry about the mis-identifying model but the Savin brand doesn't show on my cross reference list, I don't think they were ever sold in Oz. Cant remember if i ever tried swapping boards between 2228 and 2232 but I imagine its posable but make sure the dip switches are all set the same.
