You never realize how cheap a professional is until after you let an amateur do it.... and
if this was an easy thing to do then everybody would be doing it! But it isn't and they are not!!
It's not the PCU, but rather the foam "slider assembly" seal in the toner hopper assy. You've probably noticed that the tray of the hopper is filled with toner too, then as the bottle spins, the toner spills out onto the PCU, etc. Either replace the hopper assy, or the slider assy inside the mouth of the hopper (the the bottle seats up agianst).
(Item #10 in diagram). This is an AF2022 diagram but the hoppers are universal.
Thankyou for the info...now that my friend is a awesome response!!!!

Yep - common issue plus sometimes the toner hopper housing itself isn't sealed properly, especially that little extension that passes the toner into the PCU. Another possible issue might be the mylars inside the hopper - these tend to "bend" (or sometimes fell off) so they can't properly move the toner towards the PCU. In this state the toner level inside the hopper rises what also leads to leaking issues. THe A220 is >10 years old so I'd probably go with a new hopper if it's not too expensive.
