    MPC 2800 No Power

    Hey,

    I have a MPC 2800 that is not booting up only the main power light comes on.

    Issue arrose after paper jams and then machine was power cycled. I have tryed a new PSU, BICU and I/O board.

    Where can i go from here???

      Hey,
      Unplug the power form the BICU and see if that turns on machine, if it does just go through all the connectors one at a time to see the line pulling down the voltage.
      Copiers are only as good as there last service

          Try unplugging the HDD and powering up the machine.
          Customers have a nasty habit of flicking the power off if they can't clear a jam for some spastic reason and the HDD may have been in the middle of something at the time.

              I would go with the HDD also, as most of the new generation colours won't boot it the hdd is dead or not connected. It is almost as if it is seeing the hdd as extra memory, and will not start without it.

                  Polygon mirror motor can also cause this. There's an updated one, part number AX060396.
                  It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

                      Pinched cable on the duplex pulled down the 5v line, problem fixed
                      Copiers are only as good as there last service
