Fuser housing tab broken at HR bearing

This is common to several models using the same type fuser. I came up with what appears to be (so far) a good fix without replacing the housing. Use a bearing with a groove and ring, and install it on the rear side only. Situate the ring against and on the outside of the metal piece ("side plate, rear"). The ring will not allow the heat roller to drift! You may have to cut a small part of the ring off, and put the space it leaves at the press roller bearing so the bearing doesn't contact the ring.

Yep, works great. Aficio 350 bearing fits perfect.

Well, sorry if this had already been posted. I did search a few words but nothing like this came back. What words should I have used to find the post describing this fix? I think the search feature needs some work, or maybe it's just me.

What model? I recall some issues with the A1022/2022 fuser housing - just a couple of times though. I just bended some metal at the fuser stripper holder so it helds the hot roller ball bearings.
