Answer ID 135897 | FAQ ID 120253 | Rank A2 Why is SC636-01 (Error: Functional Problems) occurring when the device powers up?
SC636-01 is the result of the technician not turning Enhanced Authentication Management off before uninstalling CAP.
To resolve this issue, please log in to the Special Service mode and set SP5-401-160 to 0. The error will disappear once the machine is rebooted. Note:
To prevent this error, please be sure to set Enhanced Authentication Management (Administrator Tools > Enhanced Authentication) to "Off" before uninstalling CAP.
The same error occurs if the Java VM card has been removed from the VM card slot, or has been corrupted.
Please make sure that the Java VM card is inserted in the correct slot and is functioning properly.
