Anymore if have issues with a machine and there are items either at or over their pm time, i do all the pm first, 8 out of 10 times that resolves quality problems.Leave a comment:

Awesome - I was hunting through those SP's but didnt see that one! If the black drum doesnt disengange from the ITB then surely the single colour modes will still have the lines on them anyway?! (if it is the black drum of course)
The PM yield for the drum units is 120k.Leave a comment:

Re: MPC5000 - Lines on copies
I agree, the printer test page is an excellent tool to gauge each color unit independently for problems. You can easily tell if there is blockage in a particular dev unit or a dirty laser glass. This can be found in Printer SP1 and select Test Page (not sure of exact number, but you will see it). Select Color Test Page.Leave a comment:

Test patterns are found in SP2-109 (Copy SP). You can also make a test print in Printer SP (don't know the exact SP-number).Leave a comment:

Re: MPC5000 - Lines on copies
You can do single colour copies. There's an SP mode in 5xxx called Colour Mode Selection Display. That enables single colour.Leave a comment:

What SP is that Eric?
I was a bit annoyed that you cant do single colours as I am used to working with Konica Minolta's its a good way to isolate errors like this.Leave a comment:

Re: MPC5000 - Lines on copies
169k for a black drum is quiet a lot. Replacing black drum and ITB-Cleaning Unit will solve it.
If you want to test all colors, you can always print a test page in Printer SP. This will give you a good indication about the drum/dv-units.Leave a comment:

Re: MPC5000 - Lines on copies
Black drum is at 169k and the ITB cleaning unit has done 240k!
I was unaware that the black drum is always in contact with the ITB so I guess it is that then - I have ordered the unit so fingers crossed. Will switch out the ITB cleaning unit as well seeing as it is at its life.Leave a comment:

Re: MPC5000 - Lines on copies
I'd say it's the black drum unit - you can't really test single colors totally discrete because the black drum unit is always active, even in single color mode since the print engine can't lift up the transfer belt of the black drum. You can also try to clean the charge roller (a usual suspect) if the drum unit isn't close to the PM yield or older than ~2 years.Leave a comment:

Re: MPC5000 - Lines on copies
Could be drums and/or ITB-Cleaning Unit. What are the meter readings for all PM-parts? Drum Units last for 120k and the ITB-Cleaning Unit lasts 240k.Leave a comment:

MPC5000 - Lines on copies
Hey all, been at an MPC5000 today that is doing my head in. There are black lines across the top of the copies. Fair enough, I tested all the colours to isolate which drum unit was the faulty one, only problem - the lines appear with all colours! I then checked the ITB which appears to be fine and gave the ITB cleaning unit a good clean too. Fusing unit and transfer roller also seem fine.
Did internal prints to make sure it wasnt the optics either!
Can anyone suggest what this might be as all I can think of at the minute is ordering all the drum units and ITB cleaning unit!
Cheers.
