I think I had this SC because of a bad fuser lamp. I'm note shure if this machine uses more than one lamp because in case it uses just one, the error would reappear instantly - you just might give it a check. If the lamp(s) are OK, you might have a bad thermistor or connection issues.

I had a reocurring 553 that was only cured by replacing the ENTIRE fuser. Even after replacing all the parts such as stats, thermistors, lamps etc.
It's 106 miles to Chicago. We've got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.

      Hit it.

Had the same. Changed all the usual parts, but ended up replacing the entire Fusing Unit.

I am seeing a trend here, regarding these fusing units. Looks like the thermal fuses on these are not of the best quality, and I am thinking that they trip prematurely, or may even be faulty when you receive them as "new" parts.

We once had a batch of 1022 thermistors that were faulty out of "new" stock, so nothing is impossible.

Machines with multiple fusing lamps will run for some time before a code comes up. We have had this happen out here as well.

Have you checked the thermal fuses when you fitted the replacements, for continuity?

          Just asking.

We have a bunch of MPC2050 / MPC2051 with Sc551/553 errors coming out randomly. We reset code and in some case we change AW100128 AW100127 Thermistors and / or Fusing Belt. But errors may re-appear after some days or weeks or months.
            Firmwares are updated.
Never changed whole fusing unit, just because in Ricoh Part List we have not Entire Fuser Unit code to order.
            Never changed Fusing Lamps.
Never changed PSU or other boards...

TCO is made by fusing problems than toner consumption

What else could we try to reduce (or not expand) tech costs and better customer satisfaction? Do you think we have to change Boards or Lamps?

            Thank you for your help!

Check that both the heating roller and pressure rollers have not become bent; try rolling them on a flat surface and see if any gaps appear. Visually inspect all lamps, and meter them. If you cannot find a fault with either and you have already replaced the thermistors, then I would recommend try swapping parts with a working fuser, starting with a whole fuser to eliminate the machine itself.

                  Hoi,
My question might be off the topic, mpc2051, noise:
I have lubricate the roller which the belt is moving about...
tried to put all together afterwards, impossible to do!
Anyone can give me a good tip?
                  Thanks in advance.
                  Greetings,
                  Mark
PS: we don't have the issues with SC fuser codes (Belgium, you know)

Replace the fuser sleeve, they cannot be easily taken apart and oiled. Any damage or dents made on the sleeve will ruin it.
