    Gestetner 1802d (Ricoh 1018d) SC542

    Hi all

I tried to reset the SC error code in SM but the machine immediately displays 'Error!!!' when pressing 'ok' or '#' for enter.

I've dismantled the fuser and tested the lamp, thermister and fuse all ok.

Manual says possible faulty thermistor which I agree however what baffles me is that it wont let me reset the SC code. . . Usually you can reset it, then power off/on copier for it to error out again.

    I suspect I have a defective PSU. . .

Any suggestions (apart from ugrade or throw out of a window)??

    Thanks all!!!

Yeah, I had an issue with not being able to clear a similar code a while back. Not sure why they had used that special key combo on these, but it fooled me at first, until I learned the secret.

Have you checked the thermostat and thermofuse?
