    Network Scan in JPEG format

    Dear all,
Got this request from a customer, he wanted the Network Scan ( Scan to Network Folder) to scan in the JPEG File Format and have tried the Ricoh Aficio 3045 ( which stated in the brochure, that it support PDF, TIFF, JPEG ) but it turned out to be in TIFF format when i view the scanned document on the PC. Is there any setting i need to set before i use the scan to network folder function? Can this B/W machine scan in JPEG file?

    Thanks

It only scans as a jpeg in colour, as far as I know.

Llama is right: Ricoh's scanning convention will allow you three options:

PDF (black and white or colour)
        TIFF (black and white)
        JPEG (colour)

The 3045 only has a monochrome scanner so PDF and TIFF are your only options.

Change the Scan Type setting to Gray Scale and it will come out as a JPEG. B/W is 2 bit (TIFF), Gray Scale is 8 bit (JPEG). Gray scale is considered color for all practical purposes.
