CIFS is still a part of Windows 7 Home versions. Try to make sure that Windows Live Essentials isn't installed, and also that the security software on the machine is set up to allow communication with the machine.

Since this is a Home OS, is this a personal machine or used in a business? It could be that the MFPs are part of a domain, in which case the computer won't be able to connect to them as you cannot join a Home version of Windows 7 to a domain.

We're able to scan to folder in windows 7 starter and Home Version.

        Yes, it works.

Share the folder, preferably in the root C, change the encryption level down to 40 or 56 bit in the advanced network settings, turn off password protect sharing in the same place, get the path right (try using the IP address or input the DNS settings) and make sure that there are no spaces in the share name (I had this problem yesterday for the first time, but on Professional.)

Also, has it got a firewall on it? Something like Norton or McAfee.
