Customer insists on having scanrouter, but after upgrading the machine from 10xx series scanrouter refuses to see the new model. Any special settings in the machine or it's not possible with MP series ?

Re: MP 2510 and scanrouter
ScanRouter is no longer a supported application. It's only purpose was to be middleware to allow Samba scanning, which is now built into the machine. Just tell the customer the functionality is now built in and that there will be a lot less headaches with a scan to folder setup.
After all, if they're dead set on keeping ScanRouter, let them know I have a bunch of licenses for Windows 98 I'll be happy to send your way to put everything at the same technology level. -

The server is the same - windows 2003, nothing has changed except the new machine upgraded from 1045 to MP 2510.Comment

Re: MP 2510 and scanrouter
Sounds like a situation where the customer who doesn't know jack is trying to tell you how to do your job. Just set up smb scan to folder using the the WIM and everybody will be happy.NEVER ASSUME ANYTHINGComment

Re: MP 2510 and scanrouter
I agree. Why would the end user prefer the added complications, not mention the limitations, that come with Scanrouter? However, it's true that it can easily be configured in even a WIN 7 64-bit environment (when there isn't another option), but it is not compatible with, and won't recognize the MP series. So advise the end user that they're S.O.L. if they want to remain in the dark ages.Last edited by sandmanmac; 04-24-2012, 08:31 PM.Comment

ScanRouter is no longer a supported application.
You can also print out this thread to proof that other techs thinks alikeComment

Re: MP 2510 and scanrouter
I take back what I said, Scanrouter does appear to be supported on this model. I got that using RTFM, by the way. However, it does not specify Scanrouter v2 Lite, only the Pro version, so I cannot confirm that it works categorically.
Make sure that you have turned on Delivery Option in User Tools and that port 3670 is open on any firewall on the Scanrouter server. You can also specify the delivery server IP address somewhere in SP5xxx.
Having said all of that, the fact remains that Scanrouter is a very obsolete product and it would be best to steer the customer away from it if possible. I'd go for lying myself.Comment

Re: MP 2510 and scanrouter
They have all 30 users already setup on server and are reluctant to change. Reluctant or not - scanrouter has to go. I'll just use same users and reroute it via shared folder on server.Comment

Re: MP 2510 and scanrouter
I assumed that it works as it has the "Delivery Option" option in user tools.
The rather sketchy information is in this file:

Seems to be discontinued as well (see supported OS) - latest patch has been withdrawed from download page, too.Comment
