    [Misc] lanier ld525c

machine makes a high pitched ringing sound (kind of like the sound from older television sets) late in the day after running awhile. I've tried a different fuser but the sound remained. Today i was going to run some output checks but the sound went away for now. It starts when the copy process begins and stops a few seconds after the paper exits....any ideas?

I just ran some output checks, and the only one that duplicated the sound was the blk drm test....tried another blk drum but sound still there

There was a bulletin a while back about a high pitched whining noise coming from the ITB cleaning unit. One of the blades was vibrating. Pull it out and reset it to check or just replace the damn thing.

Or run the machine with the cleaning unit out, perhaps?

Turns out it was the black PCU causing the squealing noise. tx

thanks for reporting back - output check can be confusing sice the machines doesn't always enable single-motor tests to avoid damages (e.g. the transfer belt might get driven as well if you try testing the bk drum motor to avoid damaging the surface of the opc/transfer belt).

I've seen that when the black PCU gets noisy, if you pull the front PCU cover off you'll see some brown dust (rust) around the charge roller bushing, sort of like when an electromagnetic clutch goes bad. Something to look for, hope that helps in the future.
