Aficio 2060 Gear Noise

Hi,

I'm working with this Aficio 2060, when the machine print a large job (100 copies or more) you could hear a gear noise every certain qty of copies and for certain qty. of time. (Like 5 to 8 seconds) and then the noise disappears, the machine continue with the job and finish it. In one occasion the machine stops with a paper jam during the job, the jam was cleared the machine continues the job and start the noise again then machine stop the noise and it complete the job without jamming.

I check the outputs for fuser motor, developer motor, web motor, and many others. Nothing. All parts working fine, no noise.
The machine works fine for certain qty of pages, not for sure how many copies it sound like one gear slipping against other.

I check the paper trays and everything look fine, it up and down without any noise.
T has been at side side of the machine for a wile like 200 copies and nothing, no noise at the moment.

Any comment will be appreciated.

Have you had any SC 495's? Sounds like a toner recycling tube may be clogged.

How about the toner motor, that will operate intermittently like the toner recycling. When you run your output checks, you may have to also turn on clutches to duplicate actual operation.

Another thing to check on this model is the Web motor. It will cause intermittent noise (that never seems to happen when there's a tech onsite). If you pop the Web off, it's usually pretty obvious if the Web is advancing or not.

In my experience, gear noise on a running Martini is more often than not caused by the two black gears at the bottom of the clear plastic tube on the front of the PCU. They are AB01 1462, replace them as a pair.

Another thing to check on this model is the Web motor. It will cause intermittent noise (that never seems to happen when there's a tech onsite). If you pop the Web off, it's usually pretty obvious if the Web is advancing or not.

Actually the web motor wasn't operating or erratically operating, a broken wire, well I fix it and assemble it.
After 1,500 pages no noise noticed.

In my experience, gear noise on a running Martini is more often than not caused by the two black gears at the bottom of the clear plastic tube on the front of the PCU. They are AB01 1462, replace them as a pair.

If the machine will return with the gear noise I will replace as your advice.

Remove the drum unit and rotate the the slotted gear driving the drum cleaning brush and coil. You probably have broken teeth on the gear, bent coil, or globs of hard toner in the coil. Failing to replace the drum cleaning brush leads to bristles from the brush clogging the waste/recycling systems then the real fun begins.

I will check those items. Noise was from fuser unit or near.
Cleaning Blade and drum cleaning brush was receantly replaced. The machine had a 300k maintenance. It have only 7k copies at the moment aftee the PM.

Cheat the front door and watch the recycling gears ripping themselves to bits.
