    Ricoh MP171

Has anyone seen this? On the back side of a single sided copy, the leading edge has about a 2 inch
gray band. Only happens on the first copy. The rest are clean. Any tips are appreciated.
    Thanks

It's probably an issue with the PCU - the fransfer roller has permanent contact so if there's a slight background on the drum (not neccessarily visible on the prints) it makes the transfer roller dirty until a sheet runs through and removes the toner witht the first rotation. Depending on the copy count I'd consider replacing both PCU and transfer roller.

Thanks Gift. Transfer roller did the trick.

set transfer cleaning from a negative figure to a positive figure, by changing the pcu and transfer roller all you will do is repeat the fault a little further down the line, good luck
