    ricoh mpv3500 bk toner undetectible

    I have a toner undetectible reading on my blk in the system status reading..?
    I am using aftermarket blk in this machine, but, i use the same aftermarket toner in all my other machine's and i have system status reading's. will this affect how the machine detects when its out of blk?
    I have the alert"non oem toner installed" off.. but as i said i have this done to all my ricohs and they still give me status readings...

      Thats one of the problems with aftermarket. One batch is good the next one isn't. The cartridges have a chip in them and that is probably the problem. Send it back.

          Or better : use the original toner for best results.

              Well, I've seen bad readings and even the "aftermarket" toner message with original toner every now and then (rarely). I've never experienced any problems due to the detection issues so either it works or not. Still wouldn't recommend using non-oem toner - this will backfire sooner or later with defective toner pumps and misc. PM parts.

                  Thanks for the heads up, I will go back to the oem, i use oem on a regular basis in my high vol machines and i agree the oem is the best on the wear and tear and the dv lasts longer.
                  The only aftermarket i use is in the ricoh's all other generic toner is crap, but , the generic from NA Trading in MINN is really good, i have never had any real problems with it until this system undetectable thing.
                  According to them the owner is still a ricoh distributor and manufactures there own ricoh aftermarket toner.
                  In Any case the OEM is always the way to go.

                      turn off sp 5061 to get rid of the non oem prompt. You may have a toner pump thats gone bad also...thank the non oem for that. but if the RFID chip is bad on the cartridge it's hosed.

                              Llama's correct...5051 to turn off the oem message...and don't forget to cycle the power afterwards.
