You are correct there are only two(2) types of analog toner and two different impellers, with the actual toner in the tube the exact same type but the digital Ricoh machine uses a tube that is exactly the same size but a different impeller system to drive it with. The manufacturer could have put digital toner into the analog tubes???? I have used after market toner in the wide formats for many years and have never run into this type of problem but anything is possible. If you have digital toner in an analog machine the toner will not hold to the developer due to the opposite charges. Before you let the customer run the toner out of the machine make sure you are not expelling developer mix onto the drum, you could ruin a drum also.
The K&E toner is hard to get aftermarket and I only know of one supplier and they should stand behind their product. I am not going to give their name until you know for sure as I do not want to give them a bad rep. if you need it contact me direct jrd45@earthlink.net You can also convert your machines to Ricoh toner simply by changing the impeller.
    Good Luck
Wonderful, I might take you up on that! Thanks, I will let everyone know how everything turns out!

      Hello,
Sorry I haven't gotten back to you guy's about the resolution to the toner problem. I spoke to my boss the following week about the toner issue and he said he had sent two other customers the same toner and there both getting back grounding issues. I'm just waiting for some OEM toner before going back, I'll respond back as soon as the problem is resolved. Thanks

        Re: wide format fw740 analog

Hey I know it's been awhile, the problem was the toner, did a developer change and new toner and all is well!

I have a new problem the I would like to inquire about. This time I'm working on a K+E 5800 you know the one with an easy bake oven for a fuser. (no rollers)
It definitely has a cleaning blade issue but the thing is how do you remove the cleaning blade? I took the top cover off exposing led assy and developer and I see the drum with lines running through it. the copy has just lines no corona arcing so I just wanted to replace the drum blade. I lift up the top cover of the fuser and there is a plate that is spring loaded that is on the back of the process section I'm guessing it's behind their! Any help or literature would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The customer does not want to spend a lot of money, so were just going for the minimum.
