I admit it. I'm a printer tech. The only reason I was working on this machine was because my customer (with all the HP's) asked me to. Since I work on all kinds of units, not just HP, I was willing to give it a try. Their original problem was that it wasn't always fusing the toner. I found a used fusing unit online and purchased it. I didn't ohm it out before installing and it came up with the SC542 error, which I believe is a fuser open heat error. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) So I ohmed out the fuser and found that it was defective. So I put the old fuser back in and still got the error. Is there a key sequence I can go through to clear the error. I'm in a hot spot right now because the unit is completely down now. Help!
