Are you sure that code is correct? Most Ricoh SC codes are 3 digits.

Yes I am sure this error code is correct
Because the model (Aficio 2238c) have RIP on machine

I honestly don't know, a search of my Model-J manuals has drawn a blank.

I'm guessing that it's a variant of the Model-J that isn't available in Europe.

        Sorry mate.

I have seen four digit codes with regards memory and controller faults.
never worked on one of these with the sd card slots and i think you would need the actual service manual to deal with a complicated controller fault.

Worth checking the memory dimms and other dims are seated correctly and the hard disk is ok. But over that sorry i can't help you

Not sure if this is any help or not but the fax unit has an error 1001. Cant find a 1002 but sometimes codes come to light that are not in a manual.
For 1001 they say reset the fax unit.

I believe it is a side to side registration error. I have a very usefull FREE text file up on my site at:
Manuals 4 You - Free on Ricoh and Lanier error codes.
Feel free to buy something while you're there. Baby needs a new pair of shoes.

Is the device connected to an @Remote gate or other such system that sends data from the device out to another location? The @Remote system will give four digit error codes when losing connection, though I doubt it would kill the entire device...
                Just a thought
