[Dead] AF1055 - Blowing Charge PP

    Hi All,

First post. I bought an Aficio 1055 (Mojito) with a dead Charge Power Pack.

I replaced the board and it's done about 15K and now I am getting an SC300. All signs seem to indicate that the new board is blown as well.

Does anyone know if this machine suffers from any vulnerabilities that would cause frequent failure of this component?

    Thanks.

SC300, have you tried to rebuild or replace the charge corona assy??? that is the more common cause of SC300.

X2, the end blocks could be arcing or even the drum itself is worn down on the outside edges allowing a short to ground (the green outer layer will wear down to the white layer.).

I seriously doubt the HV board is blown again - only replaced about 3 of them on all Ricoh's combined in the last few years. Best bet is to put a Charge Corona Assy in it - once the terminals start arcing chances are the cleaner is fixing to go as well.

Also make sure all the filters are clean - seen poor airflow cause the charge to arc, and once it starts the terminals are ruined. (This was a big problem on the 2090 more than xx60 type machines because the filter most responsible was hidden and didn't come in any of the pm kits.)

          Thanks for the responses.

I will run with the suggestions: charge corona assy, air filters and possible worn drum edges. Will let you know how it goes.
