I recently had to change the BCU, BCU ROM, NVRam, and controller board. Now, the machine will produce prints, but it flashes between several toner-related errors. The errors are related to the toner being almost empty, and also to the bottles not being set. It currently says that the cyan hopper is depleted, but it won't load toner from the cyan bottle because it says the bottle is not set. The other hoppers aren't depleted yet, but those bottles are not detected either. I have tried different bottles. I have checked all connections in the toner hopper unit and everything seems fine.Is there a procedure I need to perform after I install those new components? Thanks

Re: Ricoh C751 Toner not set/toner almost empty after new NVRAM/BCU/Controller
Were you able to save the original nvram settings or program in manually from the birth certificate? The attachment may help you get around the false add toner, if not you may have to replace the developers like a new install. The 'add toner condition reset' pdf is the one you want to try. The others I threw in in case you didn't have them. -
Re: Ricoh C751 Toner not set/toner almost empty after new NVRAM/BCU/Controller
Did you mean the MP C7501 or the Pro C751EX? The C751 is a totally different animal than the C7501.Comment

Re: Ricoh C751 Toner not set/toner almost empty after new NVRAM/BCU/Controller
I am referring to the PROC651/PROC751 (D074/M044) machines (not the C6501/C7501).
After I installed the new PCB components, the results for the SPs that are done during setup/dev replacement (3012, etc) were blank instead of 1111 or 4444 etc. I performed basically a new machine setup procedure and then those results were populated (the developer load result indicated that the developer unit was not empty/already loaded - as expected).
Any help is appreciated.Comment

My apologies, I guess I was speed reading and got a little dyslexic.Comment

Re: Ricoh C751 Toner not set/toner almost empty after new NVRAM/BCU/Controller
Im assuming im to late but the fix for that is your toner bottles. We have had a few issues with bad toner bottles... This also give you issues with tponer not feeding into sub hopper..Comment

Re: Ricoh C751 Toner not set/toner almost empty after new NVRAM/BCU/Controller
We solved this problem..
It turned out to be a setting that is set at the factory, but is set incorrectly by default when the BCU and controller (and related ROMs) are replaced together. I don't remember the exact SP, but I think it was SP5959 Contract Type or similar. I believe it was defaulted to 5, but it should be set to 10 (or vice versa). Also, I think the setting was located in Factory Service Mode.Comment
