    Ricoh Aficio 1045 with SC670 & SC990

Has anyone had these codes at the same time?

They only tend to appear when i'm entering data in SP or trying to print SMC lists.

Machine has new drum & dev, also have formatted the hard drive and cleaned the transfer belt solenoid/clutch. Have even updated the firmware!!

Have disconnected the finisher and ped but still no joy!

Will try a new hard drive next or NVRAM.

    Other than this, any advise?

Is the machine configured as a basic copier or as a full fledged MFP (Print/Scan etc)?

If it's a all singing all dancing MFP try removing all additional RAM, Print/Scan option SD cards and disconnecting the Hard Drive, then see if the machine functions normally as a totally bog standard single sided copier. (Although the Hard Drive is standard on even the most basic variants the machine will function without it, although you will not be able to duplex or use any finishing options)

Then try adding things back to see what brings the problem back.

I have had SC990/991 for Hard Drive faults, but I haven't had much success in reformatting them. Sometimes the drive is totally kippered, other times the problem re-appears a short time later. They are only common or garden 3.5" IDE drives and are cheap enough to replace.

I have had SC670 for hard drive problems although what tends to happen is the machine will display "Please Wait" for well over 10 minutes before throwing up the code. Disconnecting the hard drive will allow the machine to come to ready and function without duplex/finishing options.

I have also had problems with certain brands of SODIMM bringing up various controller faults. Again removing this from the machine (along with any options that require it, print/scan etc) eliminates that as the culprit.

I have also had SC990 for problems with the laser unit, but this is also usually accompanied with SC322/326.

Anyway, see how you go and good luck.

      Thanks Ollie.

I managed to fix it in the end by fitting a new BICU board after trying a new hard drive and various other boards.

Strange one though how the machine copied and printed ok and it threw up SC670 or SC990 when trying to save adjustments in SP or when printing off SMC reports.

Anyway BICU fixed it but thank for your words of wisdom. Its people like you who make people like me keep trying things rather than giving up!

      Cheers,

      Lea

If the firmware versions of your accessories are too different (read incompatible) they can throw codes when that accessory is used. Had a similar issue on an out of the box B246. Updated the firmware and then installed the accessories and it worked. (I think mine was a fax kit.)
the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.

I've had a few weird faults now on various machines that only a new BICU resolves, it's always a hard decision as you always have to justify the prohibative cost of the damn thing with the boss, hence you tend to try every avenue first.

On the Aficio 350/450 (steaming piles of toner flinging crap that they are) I've had a few occasions of the tray lift and toner bottle motors failing and taking out the boards they are connected to. So then I have to justify ordering a few hundred quid's worth of parts for a machine that you couldn't give away. You have the customer on one side whining about how their 8 year old, three million on the clock copier (that they won't get rid of and is still inexplicably under contract) keeps letting them down and your boss on the other side whacking you around the head with your monthly parts spend.

Hi, I have an aficio 1035 thats behaving exactly like this. First the SC990 and then as soon as I close the front door this code appears. What is it about the switchs and how do I resolve this.... Please your help will be highly appreciated.
