    Password lost

    Hello,

I have a DSc428 and an MP2550 with the client to change the administrator password and supervisor. But he does not remember more.

    The machines are locked.

    How to unlocked?

For DSc428 I found in the service manual code SP-7-810-1, but when I go into SP mode there is not this code SP.
There is there a code to bring up the code for SP.
(eg as for the double counting -> # system SP)

    Thanks you in advance

If they changed the supervisor password(which they shouldn't know about) your only hope is to reset the NCS (network control service)settings in sp mode. Other wise you'll be replacing the NVram.

Do a search for 'factory mode' (sorry I will not tell you here) and run SP 5-846-46. This SP will only show in factory SP, not in normal or special SP.

          NVRAM! again NVRAM!!

Order it save yourself the time of trying only to order the NVRAM.

          From experience this comes from!!

Yes, replacing the NVRAM works just fine. Be sure to manually re-input the non-default data after initializing.

I'm just pointing out that there is another option (there is actually another one yet again that is more involved as it related to an NVRAM data download, file modification and NVRAM upload). I will not divulge the factory SP mode here but it is already out on the 'net if someone wants to look for it. Running the appropriate SP will save much hassle. The other option is also outlined here on CTN.
