[Misc] Web Image Monitor error on Aficio MP 6000

Customer IT department calls and complains that they do not have the ability to add users when logged into the Web Image Monitor. On site and I hit the interface, log in as admin, go to address book and click ADD USER. This brings up a blank page as does CHANGE when trying to edit a current user. Tried from on network, off network, different workstations, different browsers, all result in the same behavior. Upgraded all firmware, reinitialized address book, reinitialized NIB, reformatted HDD, turned WIM on and off, tried different IPV4 address on copier. All have no effect. Users can be added normally via the copier panel and all other functions via Web Image Monitor seem to function perfectly (including ADD GROUP and MAINTENANCE from the address book.) Ricoh tech support has no idea what could cause this behavior. Hoping someone out there has run into this or has any suggestions for fixing the issue. Thanks.

Have you tried a NVRAM clear SP5803?

The one thing I haven't done yet. I believe this brings the MFP back to factory defaults, correct? (Don't normally do this, I'm on the IT, connectivity side). Ricoh tech suggested replacing the HDD although I find highly unlikely this will have any affect. Doing that today and, if not effective, I will try the NVRAM clear. Thanks.

Try SP mode 5801-11 It will reset the NCS,then you have to re input all network settings, incase you try 5801 all NVRAM make sure you have the birth certificate of this device or Print the SMC List 5590.Or as an option you could also back up the NVRAM data on SD card to be on safe side! good luck!

Why the fixation with clearing the NVRAM!!!???

In 20+ years I don't recall EVER doing a ram reset!

Agree! There must be something to look in to before doing NVRAM. but most of time( NCS Clear )is been pretty helpful to me tho!

Assuming that you tried just a laptop and a crossover to the machine? Isolates everything.
Testing 1-2-3, testing, testing. Is this thing on?

Yes. First thing I tried. Functionality was still not there.

NCS clear was done several times. No luck.

5801-11, 5801-10,-15. reinitialized all memory. Nothing seems to work. The hardware guys asked me not to do an NVRAM reset for the reasons you covered above. If nothing else works, one of the techs with have to give it a shot. Customer has off-site IT and this functionality is required so we'll have to do something. NVRAM reset is probably our last shot.

Will post the solution (if there is one)

Thanks for the info. WIM IS accessible, however. The only functionality (as far as I see) is the Add User page in the address book throwing up a blank web page. Exceedingly strange.

Sounds like it could be a browser issue.Which one (and version) are you using? It seems that Ricoh is fixated on IE, and nothing newer than version 7.Not that other browsers won't work, but IE is the only one that's supported.

You might try reloading the WEBSYS firmware again. That is specifically for the WIM.

Did you try Smart Device Monitor for Admin? No need to get crazy with the server version (unless you have it up and running, of course). That may help isolate things a bit, and offer a very usable workaround in the process.

Had a similar fault when coping and old address book to the lastest MP 3501-2 machines.

                              Back up the address book.
Reinitialise and Clear the address book.
                              From memory SP 5846-47 ?

Reinstall the address book via manual entry for testing, then update as usual.
