    RT43 on a MP8001

Hi, All. I have a couple of rt43's in shop that will feed all day on a 2051, but will jam within 10 copies on the 8001. On the rt43's, the new eprom is installed(B4735155), drive gears and one ways have been cleaned, sensors cleaned, new feed rubber installed. The 8001 has no feed issues with anything other than the LCT's, and they work fine on my 2051. As it is a straight shot from the lct to the machine relay roller (which is used by all feed stations), I'm at a loss here. Changes to LCT paper buckle have no effect. Anyone seen this? BTW, jam code 57, LCT feed sensor late.

The machine also recognizes the LCT eprom as the B4735155.

Have you set the LCT paper size, SP5959-005?

Your problem rang a bell with me because I vaguely remember having a feed issue like this a while ago. I believe you may need to change the main board on the RT43 to make it work on the 8001 (per the tech bulletin it was standardized). The feed tires may or may not need to be replaced, you will have to determine that. I also saw mention of firmware for the RT43 (B4735151.EXE), but I'm pretty sure it is preinstalled on the new EPROM you put in.

Paper size is set correctly, and the eprom , according to the bulletin, was the only change for compatibility. I have a set of one way drive gears ordered. I'll update after I install them.

teebee1234 may be correct, the UK Mod bulletins (MB473010a / MB473011) specify the modified roller / gear "to support the Martini C3.5 (80 cpm)"
Are there fewer teeth on the gear to make the roller turn faster? Larger roller?

Also New PCB B473 5142 "To correspond to new model" .... modified software.

The guys above are right. If you want it to work, you will need to modify the feed station. There is a series of bearings and shafts that need to be replaced. Basically makes the feed station exactly the same as a 2105 LCT feed station and it will work once it has been done.

Good call, TB. We acquired a RT 43 with a SN past the one in your bulletin, and it works great. My lesson learned: The rt 43 with the 5155 eprom will work on compatible machines up to 70cpm. For 80cpm and above, the newest standardized board and feed pulley MUST be used. Do not believe everything about Bulletin Rt43-010.
