Mp2000 and af2020 horizontal lines after clean mirrors

Hi to all, This is the third machine i found with same problem...after clean the mirrors from the scanner copies start coming with horizontal lines when we copy from the exposure glass but when copie from adf copies are clean! The strange is one technician remove the printer/scanner boards from machine and no more lines from the exposure glass! The strange is we put other printer board and problem apears again so i try to change memory ram, hd and still have the same problem! Did anyone already face this kind of problem before!?

Normally these lines are related to the scanner frame being bent on the left front side, when standing in front of the machine. This is normally due to a heavy book being put on the machine, or someone leaning on it.

To check it lightly tap on the copy glass - if it rattles, the frame is bent (as glass cannot be bent or skew!

Take hold of the left front corner and push it up slightly, then tapping the glass to check for the rattle.

Another way to check is when removing the left side slit glass cover, check that the left edge of the glass is 100% flush against the left metal edge of the slit glass frame, while being flush with the front edge, where the op panel case touches the glass. If so, the frame should be straight and you should not have these lines.

Also check that all the mirrors are in place and did not clip out while being wiped clean.

I always add the A1045 df glass seals to these models since the default mylars doesn't prevent that dirt is passing through.

On MP2000 try SP 4-903 (ADS Level).
Change the setting from 252 to 180-190.
Not the 'best' way...a possibility

As said earlier just try to add screen shot if possible,it will help make it easy to sort out,

Just a guess, unplug the DF for a moment and make a copy from Scanner Glass,

Did you try changing any of this machines board with other machines and now you have 3 bad beast rather then 1?

or did it happen after cleaning the scanner,then have detail look inside the scanner for Mirror,railings,scanner wire,

or wait, someone will come up with new idea I'm sure!

Right now, I'd love to know which ones you mean as we have a couple of repeat offenders in the field that we have to clean the optics on once a fortnight or so.

Dust is not their friend.

P/N B351-6523 works fine, I think this has been added via MB or TB to the A1045 series ages ago - I use two of them to ensure that both sides of the df contact glass are sealed. Once modded there's almost no ongoing streaking issues due to dust on the mirror.

what about counter image .i have notice yo say that copying from glass horizontal strikes lines revealed . and from adf is clean that not make any sense.

These machines do have very sensitive optics and it can be the devil's own job to get rid of the lines.

However, as the lines are pretty much repeated on page 2 in the same places as on page 1, I'm still going with optics.

once took me more then 5 hours to fix one problem like this in one 2020 but after i turn off and turn on i got the same problem but when i make copies from adf copies coming perfect! after i try to fix again the af2020 and no solution i use the machine for spares
